One year later: Catching up with Dr. Sarah Trotter

September 01, 2011

Q: How do you like Lakefield?  Is it much different than where you grew up or went to school?
A: I absolutely love Lakefield! It is a great little community. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly.  It’s nice to be home. I grew up in Bailieboro, so Lakefield is very similar to home. It has that nice small town feel.

Q: Do you have a favourite local place to eat?  If so, where?
A: The Lakefield Restaurant.  I love their pizza and Greek salad. Recently I’ve been to Kazabella... a strong competitor!

Q: Are you involved in any community events or organizations?  If so, which ones?
A: Recently I joined the Peterborough & District Dental Society Executive.

Q: Tell us about some of your hobbies and interests.
A: I enjoy running.  I don’t have any races scheduled however that is on my “to do” list.

Q: What’s been playing in your CD deck/on your iPod lately?
A: Since coming to Lakefield I’ve been on a Country kick... inspired by my D.A. Kayla.

Q: Do you like to travel?  Where’s the most interesting place you’ve ever been?
A: Yes I do like to travel. I haven’t done much yet but I plan on doing more travelling now. Dr. Gibson keeps me inspired.  The most interesting place... I loved California!

Q: Do you have something special you’re looking forward to this fall?
A: Yes, I leave for Maui, Hawaii at the end of September. I’m very excited.

Q: Do you have any favourite TV shows?  If so, which ones?
A: Recently I’ve been watching “Love it or List it.”  I’m also a fan of "Big Bang Theory" (I have all 3 seasons).

Q: Do you have a favourite outdoor activity?  If so, what is it?
A: Soccer... but is has recently been put on hold due to a knee injury.

Q: What got you interested in dental care?
A: I was inspired by an old family friend who also happened to be dentist.  I always knew I would work in the medical field.  I am very happy I chose dentistry in the end.  It is a great profession.

In the early 80's we moved from Toronto but never gave up our Toronto dentist. A visitor to our home had a dental problem and called the Emergency Dental Service. Her reaction was "If I had a dentist like Dr Gibson I wouldn't travel to Toronto". And she was right! Dr Gibson has been our dentist for almost 20 years. He and his staff are wonderful, always listening to and caring for the patient. Procedures are thoroughly explained. We have referred friends and relatives and they have also been very satisfied.
